Leading Effective Meetings
People love this program because it assists them in their business life and their personal life also. The course objectives were to:
- Identify the elements of an effective meeting
- Utilize the AIM planning process
- Recognize and practice the behaviors of effective meeting leaders and participants
- Utilize analysis and feedback techniques to ensure continuous improvement
- Handle difficult meeting participants
We begin by having the group develop a list of ‘worst meeting scenarios’ from which they develop the top ten causes. Having identified these causes the participants quickly realize the importance of Leading Effective Meetings. The facilitator then explains that group effectiveness depends on several factors. One of the most important is setting a clear goal and keeping the group energies directed towards that goal.
Participants learn that a responsible leader keeps a mental ‘goal achievement index’ in order to state at any time how much progress has been made toward that goal. They also learn how to use our planning checklist to ensure meetings and kept them focused and on track. Throughout the program participants are given exercises so they can ‘self check’ their understanding and monitor their progress.
