Hi ,

We all think of the 4th when July comes around. Did you know that it is also Cell Phone Courtesy Month and Anti-Boredom Month? Cell Phone Courtesy is easy—just don’t talk in a quiet space where other people are silently getting on with their lives. What about anti-boredom? Well how about reading a new book. It’s my latest and it’s called Pillars of Success. It’s a great book because along with myself, it features authors like, Alexander Haig, Jr, Former Secretary of State, Pat Summit, Winningest coach in NCAA Basketball history’ and Jim Rohn, World Renowned Performance Consultant. It’s exciting for me to be in the same book as these visionaries and achievers as they share their proven success principles.

So here’s a couple of excerpts from the book

First, a few rules from Alexander Haig on Leadership, The first, of course would be integrity—a leader must mean what he says and say what he means….the second rule…loyalty. Good leaders know it goes down as well as up. Three, communication. I won’t say any more other than the fact that if you communicate well, you lead. Just giving orders won’t get you anywhere. Rule four is follow and demonstrate the courage of your convictions.

And here’s what Pat Summitt says about adversity: …I tore my ACL in my left knee when I was a senior in college. It was the first time that basketball was taken away from me. I think as kids and young people we sometimes think we have the world by the tail. All of a sudden I didn’t have something that really made me smile and made me happy every day. When that happens, I think through adversity we really look to see who we are. When I started to look at myself I realized that I needed to be able to handle the situation I was in. It made me more serious about my academics because I knew basketball was just a game. I had to get ready for a bigger game—the game of life. I try to never let anything break my spirit. Things might get you down, but you don’t want to allow them to keep you down.

Order your copy of Pillars of Success from our online store by the end of July and shipping and handling is free!

All the very best.

Jeff
