Hi
,
When I looked up October, I noticed that Mahatma Gandhi was born in this month. In India they celebrate by praying for peace and non-violence. What a wonderful thing to do, pray for peace and non-violence. And the amazing thing is that we can have it at any moment—right now—because peace and non-violence begin in the mind. That’s right.

Even if you are in the middle of upset, you have the choice to take it on board or not. You have the choice to feed the violence or to feed the peace. And here’s the amazing thing. All you have to do to dispel violence is to think peaceful thoughts. Thoughts like, ‘wow this is an amazing day and I am very grateful to be alive.’ Or, ‘I love myself and I love all who are around me.’ Or, ‘Just for today I am going to see the best in myself and others.’
It’s about you deciding to choose the uplifting thought rather than the one that is going to lead to anger and despair. As I am writing this email, I am looking out of the window of my office and I see a friend of mine sitting on my deck fishing. He is about my age and has very little money, no car and lives with his girlfriend. And he has this amazing peace in his life. He chooses the uplifting thoughts rather than the despondent ones. So wherever you are in your life—it is always your choice. You have the power no one else. Be powerful and amazing just for today!
Rock ‘n Roll
