Hi ,
September—the month when crops are typically harvested! So what are you harvesting in your life right now? What have you been working at that you are now reaping the rewards? And if you feel there are no rewards for you to reap—what are you doing or not doing that is creating your life the way that it is and the way that it is not?
Having realizations is the first part of waking up. Having a realization about your life is the first part of making any change—or continuing the way that you are because it is working so well. A realization can come as a surprise, “Oh wow—I never realized that when I do this, I create that.” Or they can come as a slow dawning, “Hmmm, this keeps on happening—what am I doing or not doing to create this situation.”
Once you have the realization that you are creating something in your life—something you want or don’t want—then you can accept it. This means accepting things that you may not want to accept: like being a little bit overweight, or smoking too many cigarettes, or maybe gossiping!
Once you accept the way that you are—then you can participate in making some kind of change. If it’s with food—take smaller portions. Smoking—smoke one cigarette less per day—which works out to seven less per week, twenty eight per month! If you have a problem with gossiping—just imagine that the person you are talking about is present!
You are the source of what you create in your life. And if you want to change something, you can start by making really small changes which over time will become enormous and will have positive effects in all areas of your life.
So together, let’s make September the month of harvesting amazing things in our lives. Let’s do one small thing each day which will result in something wonderful happening for ourselves and others. Whether it is picking up a piece of litter to make a cleaner environment—making a cup of coffee for someone you wouldn’t normally make coffee for—sending someone a card—cleaning out a drawer—whatever it is let’s do it this September!
Make it a Great Day!
Jeff
